2 April, 2019
Dallas Startup Week 2019 promises to be an amazing event, bringing together over 8,000 entrepreneurs and change-makers in North Texas for five days of festivities. Held from April 1st – 5th, this year the free event offers over 150 sessions across 16 tracks, with incredible opportunities for networking and learning from the region’s greatest business minds.
2019 also brings the launch of the Women of Innovation Summit as well as the Corporate Startup Innovation Summit – and some major names for keynote speeches. Some notable speakers this year include Mike Rawlings, mayor of Dallas; Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks; Karen Katz, former CEO of Neiman Marcus; and Suzy Batiz, founder and CEO of Poo-Pourri.
We’re excited to attend and check out all the great things Dallas has to offer in the startup world!
Our CEO Anne Ahola Ward will also have an opportunity to represent Veritoken Global on the Dallas stage, sharing our mission with attendees and describing what we’re all about.
As Ward puts it, “[P]rivacy is a fundamental human right. Your unique identity should be just that… yours. People should be able to own their own data.”
Veritoken takes this idea of identity ownership and extends it toward creating transparency and trust in a world of uncertainty. We’re challenging the current paradigm where companies hold unprecedented power in remarketing and selling our personal information – not just our gender and birthday, but everything from political and religious beliefs to our relationships and the media we consume. We want to help people take their power back.
With the use of non-fungible tokens on the blockchain, we’re working to create a world where people can verify and own their data – and ultimately take back control from the companies that are abusing our fundamental right to privacy. Our blockchain-based platform allows individuals to choose when their personal information is publicly accessible or hidden, and users are compensated for their time and verified information with tokens on the platform.
From passports and state IDs to online dating profiles and resumes, the Veritoken platform provides information verification and security for individuals, businesses, and public institutions alike. And most important of all, Veritoken offers a powerful new way to tackle human trafficking, access to financial resources, and other serious issues impacting the most vulnerable groups among us.
We’d love to see you at Dallas Startup Week 2019 – don’t hesitate to come up and chat with us at any time!
